With the help and assistance of The Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust (CCGHT), The Glens Angling Club have been awarded a grant of almost £10,000 to carry out various conservation projects on The River Dun.

This work has been carried out to provide an environment that will encourage the return of the Atlantic Salmon to the River Dun and is being carried out in conjunction with The Hatchery Project.

Consultations have been made with The Department of Culture Arts & Leisure ( DCAL), Bushmills Salmon Station, with the funding being made available from The Northern Ireland Environmental Agency (NIEA).

The Glens Angling Club are most grateful for the help and assistance given to us by Carol Kelly from CCGHT.

The planned work entailed the construction of 15 timber weirs with additional native vegetation planting to provide the ideal spawning grounds for the fish.
